Kapalua Bay Hotel Announces Its Year 2000 Packages

Indulge in golf heaven or savor the romance of a Year 2000 vacation at Kapalua Bay Hotel, the newest member in Hawaii of Starwood Hotels & Resorts' elite Luxury Collection.

Golfers can tee off the new year with an Unlimited Golf Package for $395 per night. The package includes a standard room and daily golf for two from January 1 to March 31, 2000. Or, unlimited daily golf for two from April 1 to December 21, 2000. There is no minimum stay.

For those learning the game or those fine-tuning their skills, Kapalua Bay Hotel offers two and three-day Golf Academy Packages, which include five nights partial ocean view accommodations, an air-conditioned car and golf instruction. Both packages come with daily golf for two from January 1 to March 31, 2000, and unlimited daily golf for two from April 1 to December 21, 2000. Prices range from $2,250 to $3,350 for five nights.

Play for all golf packages is available at any of Kapalua's three famed, championship courses: The Bay, The Village and The Plantation. The Plantation Course is where the Mercedes Championships®, the season opener for the 2000 PGA Tour, will make a triumphant return, January 3-9, 2000.

Kapalua's golf instruction program is one of the largest in the United States with 29, Class-A, PGA-certified teaching professionals. Those who are enrolled in the program receive video analysis, private lessons and playing lessons. In January 2000, the resort will open its new state-of-the-art Golf Academy. The practice facility, designed by Hale Irwin - Kapalua's Senior PGA Tour touring professional - will feature multiple tee areas, putting greens and bunkers for a variety of practice conditions.

With its breathtaking landscape and spectacular views, Kapalua Bay Hotel provides the ultimate romantic getaway. The Romance Package includes four nights' accommodations in an ocean view room, convertible car, welcome champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries, and daily breakfast buffet, or room service breakfast for two. The price is $1,700, with each additional night at $425. Prices for the golf and romance packages do not include tax.

Throughout the entire Year 2000, families are also invited to stay at scenic Kapalua Bay Hotel with a generous package that includes the first room at rack rate, and the second room at 50 percent off. The package also includes free children's meals at the Gardenia Court with a special kid's menu. The Gardenia Court is an inviting, open-air restaurant that offers diners views of the ocean and the neighboring islands of Molokai and Lanai.
