Recently, Kapalua Land Company, Ltd. announced the promotion of Kristopher (Kitt) Felte to Head Professional of the Kapalua Bay Course on Maui.
Felte was born in Sacramento, California and attended Sacramento State University. He has been a member of the Professional Golfers Association since 1997.
He first joined Kapalua Land Company in 1995 as an Assistant Professional. Felte later served as an Associate Professional and most recently, as the Supervisor of Guest Services at Kapalua's Plantation Course. He replaces Matt Mitchell, who recently accepted a position on the Mainland.
In his new position, Felte will oversee the day-to-day operations of Kapalua's Bay Course and will play an integral role in the organization of Kapalua's annual golf tournaments, including the PGA TOUR's Mercedes Championships.
"Kitt has been a strong asset to the Kapalua golf operation and we look forward to his many contributions in his new role," said Marty Keiter, Director of Golf for Kapalua.
The Bay Course, designed by Arnold Palmer and Francis Duane, opened in 1975. It is a 6,600- yard par 72 layout with gentle rolling fairways and generous greens. It is consistently ranked by Golf Digest Magazine as one of the Best Courses in Hawaii and was the first course in the nation to be certified as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary by Audubon International.
