Kapalua embraces Hawaiian culture and recognizes the
importance of sharing Hawaiian traditions with residents and visitors of the resort.
Daily cultural and educational programs are offered including hula and lei making
lessons, Hawaiian quilt making and much more.
A Sense of Place
Clifford Nae'ole, Kapalua's cultural advisor, offers a glimpse into Hawaii's ancient
history through a weekly historical "Sense of Place" encounter. Visitors meet
at The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua and view a cultural film and tour the Hawaiian Medicinal
Garden and Honokahua Preservation site, where nearly 2,000 ancient Hawaiians burials
dating between 610 A.D. and 1800 were discovered.

Celebration of the Arts
The annual, award-winning Celebration
of the Arts held at The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua each Easter Weekend pays tribute to Hawaii's people,
arts and culture through demonstrations in hula and chant, workshops in traditional
and contemporary Hawaiian art, one-on-one interaction with local artists and a
traditional Hawaiian lu'au.
