Kapalua Maui Charities, Inc.
Kapalua Maui Charities, Inc., host of the Mercedes-Benz Championship, is a 501 (c)3 entity and host organization of the Mercedes-Benz Championship, bestowed over $340,503 upon Maui non-profit groups, totaling over $2.1 million since it's inception in 1999. Throughout the years, these charities ranging from youth after-school programs and elderly care facilities, to environmental and wildlife protection groups, share their Aloha by providing valuable support and assistance to our communities. Their volunteer efforts also play a key role in the tournament's success. The 2007 Mercedes-Benz Championship designated benefiticiaries include:
The Art School at Kapalua
The Art School at Kapalua, established in 1995 with the belief that the arts are essential to the human spirit, provides opportunity for residents and visitors to explore their creative nature. A variety of quality programs are offered including fine art instruction, art and adventure camps for kids, yoga, ceramics, as well as other opportunities to explore the arts.
Boy Scouts of America
The Boy Scouts of America, Maui County Council has
provided the Scouting programs to youth and adults on
Maui, Molokai, and Lanaisince 1914. In Maui County, over
1,400 boys and over 500 leaders take part in the
Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity Scout, Venturing, and Learning for
Life programs. The Boy Scout programs instill values
in young people and develop
their character, physical fitness and citizenship.
Friends of the Children's Justice Center
The Friends of the Children's Justice Center is literally the last stop for the children of Maui County traumatized by sexual assault, neglect, physical abuse or emotional abuse. There are many needs abused children have which are not met by government or private programs. As children are passed from one agency to another, Friends step in to assist by contributing school clothing, food, medicine, therapy and activities that allow them to become a child again. This organization collaborates with over 25 agencies in Maui County to help over 2,000 children each year.
Hale Makua
Hale Makua is Maui's premier provider of diverse healthcare services, dedicated to "Celebrating Life, Honoring the Journey." Formed by the community in 1946 as a non-profit nursing home, Hale Makua (Home of Respected Elders) now operates two long-term care facilities and a home healthcare agency, and also provides rehabilitation, day health, and foster family programs.
J. Walter Cameron Center
The J.Walter Cameron Center houses and supports over a dozen non-profit agencies that provide assistance in health and social servies to Maui's people. More than 200 adults with disabilities receive help daily from these agencies. The Center also provides meeting rooms for community groups and businesses. For the past 33 years, the J. Walter Cameron Center's agencies have been able to target their limited resources to improving client servies thanks to low occupancy rates made possible by generous donations.
Ka Lima O Maui
Ka Lima O Maui is Maui's only non-profit community rehabilitation program. Founded in 1955, their mission is to provide employment and the supports necessary to maximize the productivity and independence of the disabled and disadvantaged persons they serve. Ka Lima provides employment -related services to over 250 persons annually and are Maui's largest employer of persons with disabilities and those considered economically disadvantaged.
Lahainaluna High School Foundation
Lahainaluna High School, celebrating its 175th year, is matchless in its Hawaiian heritage, tradition, and generations of alumnus. The Foundation, composed of alumnus, students, faculty, and community members, recognizes the unique heritage of Lahainaluna High School and its value in a fast changing community. It is committed to improving the total educational experience at Lahainaluna High School.

Maui Memorial Medical Center Foundation
The Maui Memorial Medical Center is the only full-service acute care hospital on Maui with over 200 physicians, 1000 full-time employees and 196 beds. The Foundation under the leadership of a volunteer board of directors, raises funds to ensure the facility has the resources to provide the highest level of medical care, health education & wellness prevention programs for Maui's residents and visitors.

Maui Preparatory Academy
Maui Preparatory Academy, West Maui's only college prep independent day school, opened the doors on its spectacular Napili campus this year to students in grades Pre K- through 9th. It serves a diverse student population and provides a superior education through deeply committed, high-quality educators. The MPA "experience" blends a superior academic curriculcum with athletics, artistic expression, and service to the community.
