The Seventh Annual Billabong Pro Maui presented by Hawaiian Airlines will be the deciding event in the exciting WCT Womenís World Title race this December 8-20, 2005. Held at one of the finest surf venues in the world, Honolua Bay at Kapalua Resort, the $65,000 prize purse promises to provide plenty of incentive for the 17 top female surfers and the 6 aspiring surfers who will be invited to compete in the trials.

The Billabong Pro Maui is also the last Triple Crown contest of the year and the only womenís stand-alone ASP event in Hawai'i, bringing a host of amazing international talent. Top competitor Keala Kennelly from Kauai recently made headlines around the globe for her tow-in rides in giant surf at Teahupoo, Tahiti, a first in womenís surfing. Other Billabong team riders will include Australian Rebecca Woods and Brazilís Silvana Lima, who received the Wildcard slot. Silvana will be one of six ladies entering the Billabong Trials for a chance to compete against the best 17 female surfers in the world. The only event of the season to take place off of Oahu's North Shore, The Billabong Pro Maui delights in having Honolua Bay's perfect right point as a stage. Honolua offers long rides, alternating between speedy barrel sections and flawless, drawn out walls giving the girls an opportunity to showcase much more of their own personal style.
